ALLEGAN — After league-leading Otsego won the first of two Wolverine Conference Jamborees Wednesday, it was time for someone to step up and stop the Bulldog express.

When the league moved from Cheshire to Prairiewood, Plainwell did just that.

Posting the best team score of the season so far, the Trojans knocked off Otsego and kept the title chase to a mere two points.

Plainwell shot 166 on its home course and placed all four of its golfers in the top 10.

Darby Wagner continued maintain her spot atop the individual standings after shooting 36. She was also the medalist at Cheshire with a 40.

Dowagiac finished ninth at both jamborees, keeping the Chieftains from gaining any ground on eighth place South Haven.

Maggie Cripe led Dowagiac at both jamborees, shooting 49 at Cheshire and 51 at Prairiewood.

Haley Smith shot 56 and 53 at the two respective courses, while Kristyn Turner continued her marked improvement shooting 52 and 54.

Freshman Kelsey Smith finished the day with a 65 and a 67.
