THREE RIVERS — The Niles volleyball team went 2-1 at the Three Rivers Quad Tuesday.

The Vikings defeated Mendon 25-16, 23-25 and 25-19 before falling to the host Wildcats 25-22 and 25-19

Niles rebounded to defeat Kalamazoo Hackett 25-18 and 25-9.

“We started out the night playing aggressively and had a great victory over Mendon,” Niles coach Jenny Nate said. “In our second match against Three Rivers, however, we lost a bit of our intensity. We definitely need to work on keeping our intensity up and staying focused. A few small mistakes took us out of our game during that match, but I was pleased that the girls pulled themselves back up as a team, stayed positive with each other, refocused,  played their game and finished strong by defeating Hackett in two games. ”
