PORTAGE — For the first time this season, the Niles tennis team tasted defeat Wednesday.

Big 16 Conference West Division power Portage Central blanked the visiting Vikings 8-0.

The best match of the day came at No. 1 doubles where Alec Brown and Matt Miller were defeated by Daichi Hirakaur and Abhiram Krishnan 7-5 and 7-5.
