Doris C. King, 85, of Niles, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at her home in Niles of natural causes.

She was born April 11, 1927, in Gary, Ind., to Fred and Dolly (White) Scott, who have preceded her in death. She had lived in the area since 1974, was a retired music teacher with Ballard Elementary School in Niles, and a member of New Beginnings Ministries in Niles.

Surviving family include her children, Patricia Diane King of Niles, Cynthia Joyce King of Dowagiac and Frederick M. King of Stone Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at New Beginnings Ministries in Niles.
