Robert “Rob” M. Freeze, 37, of South Bend, passed away Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Kankakee, Ill.

Rob was born July 27, 1975, in Niles to Terry and Sharon (Middleton) Freeze.

He was a 1994 graduate of Niles High School and also graduated from the University of Florida with a bachelor of arts degree in commercial recreation. On Aug. 20, 2005, Rob married the love of his life at a ceremony on Weko Beach in Bridgman. Rob worked for most of his career as a journeyman lineman for Indiana Michigan Power-AEP. He had a great work ethic and was known for his willingness to go anywhere at any time to help restore power to those in need. He was a proud member of the IBEW.

Rob was a sports enthusiast and loved the Chicago Bears, Notre Dame and the Gators. He also enjoyed fishing and played basketball while in school.

Rob had no greater love than that for his wife and daughter. He was a devoted husband and father and caring son.

Rob was preceded in death by Marvin and Clementine Freeze and Robert and Lois Middleton.

He is survived by his wife, Allison Hayes-Freeze, of South Bend; a daughter, Emery Clementine Freeze, of South Bend; his parents, Terry and Sharon Freeze, of Niles; two sisters, Cathy Teeter, of Cassopolis, and Terri Visel, of Niles; Allison’s parents, Richard and Debbie Hayes, of South Bend; and several nieces and nephews.

A private service will be held by his family. An interment will take place at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made in Rob’s memory to any Teachers Credit Union, where a scholarship fund is being established in his daughter’s name or mailed to TCU 346 W. Cleveland Rd., Granger, IN 46530.
