Patricia E. Beardslee, 78, of Cassopolis, died Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, in Cass County Medical Care Facility, Cassopolis.

She was born March 17, 1934, in Chicago to Herbert, Sr., and Estella (Klepser) Hoffman. She married Roger Beardslee on Oct. 24, 1952, in Cassopolis, Michigan.

He survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Herbert “Herbie” Hoffman, Jr. and Larry Hoffman; and one daughter-in-law, Linda Beardslee.

Pat worked early in her marriage until she and Roger started a family, and then the children became her passion. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her dog, Sugar.

She bowled, golfed and watched Court TV. She traveled across the United States, including multiple trips to Hawaii and Las Vegas.

She loved meeting people and being a part of the community as a member of Rainbow and Order of the Eastern Star.

Pat will be greatly missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of almost 60 years, Roger Beardslee of Cassopolis; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Terry Wright of Cassopolis; one son, Robert Beardslee of Jones; four grandchildren, Eric (Alexa) Wright of Cassopolis, Kristen Gaddes of Waterford, Stephanie (Lyle) Drogula of Cassopolis, Rachel (Patrick Kane) Beardslee of White Pigeon; four great-grandchildren, Melinda Drogula, Lily Kane, Lauren Kane and Nadia Wright; and one brother, Jon Hoffman of Longview, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will gather from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 11, in Connelly Chapel Wagner Family Funerals, 202 N. Broadway St.,Cassopolis, with Jeff Bruens and Eric Wright officiating. Mrs. Beardslee will be laid to rest in Poe Cemetery, Jones.

The family prefers memorial contributions to Cass County Medical Care Facility, 23770 Hospital St., Cassopolis, MI 49031.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Wagner Family Funerals, Cassopolis.
