BENTON HARBOR-Area students interested in music at Lake Michigan College are invited to attend the annual orientation meeting at 1 p.m. Aug. 23 in the Hanson Theatre of the LMC Mendel Center for Arts & Technology on the Napier Avenue Campus in Benton Harbor.

The meeting is for both new and returning students and will provide information concerning the music program at LMC, music education, and the music industry. A tour of the music department facilities follows the meeting.

Auditions for acceptance into the music program and music scholarships for the 2012-2013 academic year will be held in the music studio in room MC103 immediately following the orientation meeting. Music scholarships are awarded competitively to qualified students who meet academic requirements, are musically talented, plan to major or minor in music and are interested in participating actively in the LMC ensembles and music classes.
