Candidates who wish to seek an Edwardsburg Public Schools Board of Education seat must file no later than 4 p.m. Aug. 14 with the Cass County Clerk. One six-year position on the school board will be filled at the Nov. 6 general election. To be eligible, a person must be a qualified school elector. This means that the candidate must be a registered voter in the school district where he or she is a candidate; at least 18 years old; a U.S. citizen; a Michigan resident for at least 30 days; and a school district resident on or before the 30th day prior to the election. Petitions and affidavit forms may be obtained from Cass County Clerk-Register Barb Runyon or Kathy Dew at Edwardsburg Public Schools.
