Pet of the week/Duke

Published 7:12 pm Thursday, August 2, 2012

Duke is a 1-year-old Rott mix in search of a new forever home — away from those tempting chickens. Duke is a lovable fella, liking other dogs, cats and kids more than 2 years old. He loves to be petted and is very affectionate. Duke loves to play ball and is fine left alone. He is an inside dog and reportedly housebroken. He will need updating on shots and neutering soon.

This is one great dog; he just needs a forever home.

Last week’s dog adoptions include: Kaiser, German shepherd; Champ, Doberman; Manny, terrier mix; Montana, mixed breed; Star, shepherd mix; and Mack, Ryder, Lily and Remi, Labrador mixes. Sammy, the boxer pup, also was adopted. Cats adopted were Arizona, domestic short hair, and Van De Claude, Siamese. Kittens — Biloxie and Paw Paws (shelter favorite) — also were adopted. Numerous felines and a variety of canines are available for adoption. Come, meet, adopt!
