Extend tax break for middle class

Last week, the Senate voted to keep tax cuts for those making under $250,000 a year.

Now, the House is getting ready to vote on an extension of the Bush-Era tax cuts but Republicans like U.S. Representative

Upton are refusing to pass a middle-class tax break unless the wealthy get a pay-off.  Republicans think this vote can slide by while the country is focused on the Olympics.

According to the latest data from the Congressional Budget Office, tax rates under Obama hit a 30-year low in 2009, in part because of tax cuts he implemented in response to the country’s economic downturn.

It is common sense to extend the tax break for the middle class right now, instead of making ordinary Americans pay to give the rich a break.
