William “Bill” H. McVay, 70, of Elkhart Street, Wakarusa, Ind., died at 5:10 p.m. Thursday, July 26, 2012, at his residence.

He was born April 19, 1942, in LaPorte to Wilbert E. and Irma I. (Houston) McVay. He married Sandra “Sandy” (Curtis) McVay on Dec. 14, 1963.

Surviving are his wife, Sandy; daughter, Tricia (John) Foster, Wakarusa; son, Timothy W. (Pamela) McVay, Coloma, Mich., six sisters, Betty Lynn Bagwell, LaPorte, June Suzanne Lenig, LaPorte, Nora Ann (Richard) Sherwood, Union Mills, Barbara Jean (Craig) Homan, Valparaiso, Beverly Sue (Anthony) Baima, Union Mills, Nancy Ione Blunk, LaPorte; two brothers, Raymond Eugene McVay, Knox, Robert Allen (Nancy) McVay, LaPorte; and five grandchildren.

Preceding him in death are brothers, James and Richard Guy McVay.

Bill was a 1960 graduate of LaPorte High School, 1968 graduate of Bethel College with a bachelor of art degree and a 1992 graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University with a master of business administration degree. Now a retired minister, he was ordained in 1971 at LaPorte Missionary Church, currently a member at the Wakarusa Missionary Church.

Visitation was 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, July 29, at the Wakarusa Missionary Church, 202 W. Waterford St., Wakarusa, where the service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, July 30. Pastor Paul Commons will officiate. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte.
