A veteran of medical practice with medical roots in west Michigan is taking the reins for operations at Borgess Health in Dowagiac.

Dr. James MacBride is the new medical director for Borgess Lee Medical Group. He leads a team of healthcare providers working to improve the health and well-being of individuals in and around the Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital service area of Dowagiac and surrounding counties.

“I am thrilled to lead the medical team at Borgess-Lee,” MacBride said. “Borgess has a strong reputation as a holistic, innovative and high-performance regional care health system. I look forward to helping the medical team connect and partner with regional patients in health for their life’s journey.”

Borgess-Lee’s new interim administrator, John Ryder, said the hospital was happy to welcome someone of MacBride’s expertise.

“Dr. MacBride is an exceptional talent to lead our already outstanding team of health care professionals in the region,” Ryder said. “His many years of medical practice experience in West Michigan and beyond will strongly enhance a comprehensive continuum of care provided throughout our service area.”

MacBride most recently operated a clinical practice and medical management consulting in Spring Lake.
