Gregg W. Tegze, 54, of Niles, died at 7:40 a.m. Friday, July 20, 2012, at Memorial Hospital in South Bend after a brief illness.

Mr. Tegze was born on June 9, 1958, in Hackensack, N.J., to Joseph and Wendy (Surdyka) Tegze. He graduated from Passaic High School and moved to Niles in 1989. He was employed for 17 years at Federal-Mogul in South Bend.

Gregg enjoyed riding motorcycles. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and was an avid New York Giants and New York Yankee’s fan. He also enjoyed Formula One and Indy Car auto racing.

On Dec. 3, 1998, in Niles, he married the former Diana L. Boice, who survives. Surviving family members also include his brother, Keith Tegze, of Totowa, N.J.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph, who died October 2011, and Wendy, who died January 2012.

The funeral service for Gregg Tegze will be at 9 a.m. Monday, July 20, 2012, at Halbritter Funeral Home, in Niles, with the Rev. Fran Lane-Lawrence of First Presbyterian Church officiating.

Committal services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
