The popular “All Dolled Up” interactive children’s event for little girls and their favorite dolls will be held July 28 during Dowagiac’s Summer in the City Festival.

Vickie Phillipson, program director of the Greater Dowagiac Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Development Authority (DDA), said she is pleased to welcome the Miss Dowagiac Scholarship Pageant as the co-host of the event that will allow pink tiara-topped little girls to have their pictures taken alongside Miss Dowagiac Erica Greenwood.

Held from 1 to 2 p.m. at the Children’s Entertainment Tent on Commercial Street, little girls are invited to bring their favorite doll with them.

Children who attend the free activity will be able to meet Miss Dowagiac and have their pictures taken with her, as they also make a keepsake photo frame.

Participants of the princess-themed event will receive tiaras, courtesy of the Chamber of Commerce and festival sponsors, and will be able to enter a free drawing that will award a Barbie Princess doll and Barbie coloring books to winners.

The All Dolled Up children’s event is open to the first 30 children.

Appearing throughout the three-day festival at the Children’s Tent will be Smaxy the Clown, tying balloon animals, and the Curious Kids Museum, from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily. Phillipson said the museum has been sponsored by the Passaro, Kahne and Taylor Law Office of Benton Harbor.
