EDWARDSBURG — Whether you want to cool off trying to untwist an icy shirt, warm up with blues and barbecue, land a fishing trip or dress in drag, there should be something for everyone at Edwardsburg Relay for Life.

As Edwardsburg prepares to paint the town purple for the round-the-clock American Cancer Society Relay for Life fundraiser from 10 a.m. July 28 to 10 a.m. July 29 at the middle school, there are 20 teams and 143 participants registered who have already raised $7,711.

Top prize in the 4 to 6 p.m. auction is a guided fishing trip with bass pro Mickey Thomas.

The trip includes two guests, fishing from the DirecTV-sponsored boat and a six- to eight-hour fishing trip on an area lake to be determined.

Rods, reels and tackle will be provided for use during the trip.

Lunch, drinks and snacks will be provided while fishing, the date to be determined by Thomas and the winner.

John’s Backyard BBQ will be at Relay selling rib tips.
