What type of business do you operate — what you sell, services provided? It’s an upsale resale boutique with merchandise that’s constantly changing to be fun and eclectic. We’ve added some jewelry. I’ve been in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne and couldn’t find anything comparable to what our stores have in Dowagiac.

How the Daily News described its opening: “It’s not everyone who shares Schlipp’s ability to look at a grandfather clock and see its potential as a birdhouse. One can’t help but browse, there is so much to see, from doors hung like big picture frames to lampshades recycled from skirts.”

“She has a knack for decorating. Her house should be in Better Homes and Gardens,” her daughter, Megan Dudley, said.

She is an artist whose canvas is furniture she enjoys “making look new again. I want people to come in and spend time looking. That’s what I like to do when I go places. I have to go back a couple of times.”

From how far do you draw customers? Chicago, Sister Lakes, St. Joseph, Cassopolis, New Buffalo

Plans for the future: I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing and making it fun and different.
