Director of Public Safety Thomas Atkinson reports that at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday, his officers were in the 400 block of Cleveland Street investigating a complaint.

Officers discovered that there had been a gathering at the location that included under-aged alcohol consumption.

Officers issued a misdemeanor citation to one subject, a 19-year-old female Dowagiac resident, for minor consuming alcohol, first offense.

A second subject, a 20-year-old female Dowagiac resident, was arrested for minor consuming alcohol, second offense.

During her arrest, the 20-year-old female was found to be in possession of marijuana.

She was also charged with this offense and lodged at the Cass County Jail.

This incident remains under investigation.
