Robert C. Egan Training Stables will host the 26th annual Twin Cities Classic on July 21-22 at the Berrien County Youth Fair Grounds in Berrien Springs. Over the years, this show has brought together trainers and riders from all over Michigan.

This Lake Michigan Hunter/Jumper Association show is open to trainers and riders in the hunter/jumper discipline. For a $10 non-membership fee anyone can show at Twin Cities. This is the perfect opportunity for riders showing at the Berrien County Youth Fair to get their horse prepared for showing on the grounds and in the rings with some friendly competition. All Hunter classes are $15 each, with no scratching fees. Jumper classes are $25 each. Stalls are $65 for the entire weekend and must be reserved by July 12. Trailer fees are $25 per day per horse. Camping is also available for $40 for the entire weekend. A negative coggins test is required to participate in the show.

Spectators are welcomed and encouraged to enjoy a day full of beautiful horses at the  horse complex at the Berrien County Youth Fairgrounds. Admission is free. Food is available.

Robert “Bobby” Egan, a horseman for seven decades, held the first event in 1986.  He gained early confidence in his skills as an instructor in the United States Cavalry during World War II and became a standout show rider in the Post-War era. He spent his later years coaching, judging, and managing shows in southwest Michigan.

In 1986, the great horseman, Robert C. Egan, held the first annual Twin Cities Classic Horse Show at the Berrien County Youth Fair Grounds in Berrien Springs, Michigan. As part of the Lake Michigan Hunter/Jumper Association (LMHJA) this show has grown into much more than just a horse show, it is a legacy.

From childhood on, Robert Egan showed hunters and jumpers from coast to coast. As the rider of Miss Budweiser, Sun Beau, and numerous others, he became a member of the National Show Hunter Hall of Fame and the Show Jumper Hall of Fame.
