The Niles All-Stars edged visiting Constantine 6-4 in their opening game of the District 15 state tournament at F.O.P. Park Saturday.

In the second game, Mattawan blanked Mendon 11-0 to advance to Monday’s quarterfinal contest.

Niles will now face Vicksburg, a 20-1 winner over Coldwater, in the first of two games at F.O.P. Park Monday. The game is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.

Mattawan will take on Schoolcraft, a 13-5 winner over Mattawan Blue, in the second game at 8 p.m.

The winners of Monday night’s games will move on to the championship semifinals Thursday at F.O.P. Park. That contest is slated to begin at 6 p.m.

The losers from Monday night’s quarterfinals will play again Tuesday at Mattawan.

The District 15 championship game is scheduled for July 16 in Mattawan at 6 p.m.
