Puppy Love “Lovie” Helena Behnke was born Oct. 9, 1996, and went to be with the Lord and her grandma, Helen, on June 30, 2012.
She will be missed by many, as she brought so much joy to so many lives, especially her mother, Heidi Behnke.
She is survived by Heidi; Ron Matthews; her aunt, Tracy (Dennis) Mikes; and many other relatives and friends. Dan Rife took good care of her when Heidi was away.
Not just a beautiful girl, she was also a traveler, visiting the 48 continental States and Canada. Voted Dowagiac’s favorite pet, she was often seen for many years walking through town with her mother. She liked to be the center of attention, and was proud to win the costume contest last October with her friend, Lucas Lyons. Love was a fighter; even after she wasn’t able to walk, she still had a fighting spirit. Her name says it all.
