The Cass Council on Aging is located at the corner of M-60 and Decatur Road in Cassopolis. All activities are free of charge and at the Council on Aging unless another location is specified.

• July 9, 16, 23 and 30, Mondays: The Secret Life of the Brain. The acclaimed PBS series takes an in-depth look at the brain and its changes through every stage of life. 10 a.m. to noon at the COA Lowe Center.
• July 16, Mondays: Quilting Club. Use or develop your quilting skills to make items for donation to groups in need. Meets 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at COA Lowe Center
•July 5, Thursday: Medication Drop-off. Bring in unused, expired or unwanted medications for proper disposal from 10 a.m. to noon. Medications must be in their original, labeled containers and signed in when dropped off. Medications will not be accepted at any other time.
•July 5, 12, 19 and 26, Thursdays: Dance Club. Dance to a variety of musical styles and enjoy the fellowship of friends. 9 a.m.
• July 10, Tuesday: Brain Aerobics. “Fitness for your Mind” exercises the brain and stimulates neurons. This is a free class, but you must register due to space limitations. This class is open to everyone. 10 a.m. to noon at Front Street Crossing in Dowagiac.
•July 11, 18 and 25, Wednesdays: Cribbage Club. Open to Cribbage players of all skill levels, play begins at 1 p.m. on Wednesdays.
•July 12, Thursday: Microsoft Word Class. Learn word processing basics and improve skills in this free class at Front Street Crossing from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Registration required.
•July 19, Thursday: Microsoft Excel Class. Learn spreadsheet basics and improve skills in this free class at Front Street Crossing from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Registration required due to space limitations.
•July 20, Friday: Internet Basics. Learn basics of internet use and improve navigation skills in this free class at Front Street Crossing from 1 – 2 p.m. Registration required due to space limitations.
•July 20, Friday: Book Club. The “Read & Share” will discuss “Follow the Stars Home,” a sentimental read about motherhood, love, and cherishing life by Lou Ann Rice from 1 to 2:30 p.m. at the COA Lowe Center.
•July 24, Tuesday: Lunch & Learn. This month’s topic is “Buried Alive – The Hoarding & Cluttering Behavior of Older Adults.” Light hearted talks to engage your brain while you enjoy your lunch at Front Street Crossing. RSVP needed due to space limitations. Program is free; lunch is available for about $5. Noon – 1 p.m.
•July 27: Friday: Internet Safety and Security. Learn how to stay safe and protect yourself and your information in this free class at Front Street Crossing from 1 to 2 p.m. Registration required.
