Two injured in three-car accident

A Jones resident disregarded a stop sign and caused a three-car accident Wednesday night in Milton Township.

According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Department, Derek Snodgrass, 21, was traveling east on Redfield Road when he did not stop at the stop sign at Fir Road, and collided with two other vehicles just before 5:30 p.m. Betty Aurand, 78, of Edwardsburg, and Daniel Owen, 59, of Cassopolis, were the drivers of the vehicles hit by Snodgrass.

Aurand and Owen were transported to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Public safety officials from Michigan State Police, Edwardsburg Fire Department and Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service assisted.
