The Goldmine Pickers will be bringing its “freshly brewed” Americana music to the Niles Riverfront Amphitheater Sunday for a free concert, part of “Nilesgrass Sunday in the Park.”

The program begins at 7 p.m., with an opening act starting at 6 p.m.

The Goldmine Pickers, a four-piece band from Michiana that has been together for about nine years, combines folk, bluegrass and even a little country to make music that the band says “honors tradition without holding ourselves into one type of genre.”

The band members have also played in the Niles Bluegrass Festival for the past seven years.

“It’s wonderful; we love it,” said Luke Simpson, who plays mandolin, banjo, guitar and bouzouki for the Goldmine Pickers.

“It’s one of our favorite places to play. We love being outdoors, and the audience is always really receptive.”
