Gary Wayne Beavers, 48, of Dowagiac, passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, at his home in Dowagiac.
Gary’s life began Oct. 13, 1963, in St. Joseph, the son of Berl and Williamette (Williams) Beaver. Gary was proud to be a member of the Pokagon Band of Potawatomi Indians. He loved baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers, the University of Michigan, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.
His loving family includes his children, Ashlee Beavers and Derek Beavers, both of Dowagiac; father, Berl Beavers; grandchildren, Gizhek and Kamis Beavers.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Williamette Beavers, and sister, Sandy Williams.
His family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Yazel & Clark Chapel, where his funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday.
