Victoria Wright

Victoria Lee “Vickie” Wright, 66, of Niles, passed away at 12:25 p.m. Sunday, June 10, 2012, in her residence following a ten year battle against triple negative breast cancer. Family and friends were with Vickie at the time of her passing. During her 10-year fight against cancer, Vickie became an advocate for women’s health issues with regard to breast cancer.

Vickie was born on Sept. 3, 1945, in Greenfield, Ohio, to William and Gloria Case.

Vickie began her working career in 1963 with Uniroyal Plastics in Mishawaka. In 1967, she joined Clark Equipment Company, where for 28 years she held various secretarial and administrative positions, the last of which was administrative assistant to the company’s president and CEO. Upon leaving Clark, Vickie went to American Electronic Components in Elkhart as administrative assistant to the president and CEO. She continued with American Electronic Components and its successor organizations until retirement in 2009.

Vickie was a member of the Granger Community Church.

On Aug. 13, 1994, Victoria married Timothy C. Wright, who survives, along with a stepdaughter, Virginia (Michael) Caudell, of Indianapolis; two stepsons, Timothy E. (Diane) Wright, of South Bend, and Paul A. Wright, of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Josette and Agatha Wright; her siblings, William C. Case, of Edwardsburg, James R. (Sue) Case, of Elkhart, Claudia Case, of Edwardsburg, Rebecca Maxwell, of Edwardsburg, Paula (Darrel) Briles, of Greenville, Ky., Eddie Stringfield, of Greenville, Ky., Darrel (Sue) Stringfield, of Madisonville, Ky., James (Connie) Stringfield, of Hanson, Ky., and Darla Stringfield, of Pasadena, Texas.

Family and friends may call Monday, June 18, from 1 to 8 p.m. at the Bubb Funeral Chapel, 3910 N. Main St., Mishawaka, where funeral services will take place Tuesday June 19, at 10 a.m. Pastor Mark Waltz, of Granger Community Church, will officiate the services with entombment to follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park in Granger.

Victoria’s preference was that donations be made to the Triple Negative Breast Cancer Foundation, P.O. Box 204, Norwood, NJ 07648 (www.tbncfoundation.org) or to Hospice at Home, 4025 Health Park Lane, St. Joseph, MI 49085 (http://hospiceathomecares.org) in her name rather than sending flowers.
