Samantha Meinema and Samual Porter, of Niles, are the parents of a daughter, Athena Porter, born on June 5, 2012, at Lakeland-Niles. She weighed 7 pounds, 9 ounces.

Maternal grandparents are Ken and Kelly Meinema of Kalamazoo. Paternal grandparents are Dave and Dawn Lachman, of Niles. Maternal great-grandparents are Arend and Joanne Meinema, of Kalamazoo, and Marion Cowan, of Naples, Fla. Paternal great-grandparent is Shirley Northern, of Niles.

Chavez

Kristen and Manuel Chavez, of Niles, are the parents of a daughter, born June 6, 2012, at Lakeland-Niles. She weighed 5 pounds, 13 ounces.

The Chavez’s are also the parents of one daughter, Angelina, 22 months.

Maternal grandparents are Ann Littlejoh, of Syracuse, Ind., and Jay Ratliff, of Paintsville, Ky. Paternal grandparents are Precious and Manuel Chavez, of Los Angeles, Calif.

Radecki-Dayhuff

Rachel Radecki and Tod Dayhuff, of Dowagiac, are the parents of a daughter, born June 10, 2012, at Lakeland-Niles. She weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces.

The Dayhuff’s are also the parents of two sons and a daughter; Devin Dayhuff, 15, Jason Matlock, Jr., 9, and Gabriella Matlock, 5.

Maternal grandparents are Randy and Tammy Radecki, of Niles. Paternal grandparents are Jack and RoseAnn Dayhuff ,of Dowagiac. Maternal great-grandparents are Edna and Richard Radecki, of Niles. Paternal great-grandparents are Victor and Katherine Dayhuff, of Dowagiac.

Gearhart-Chase

Jesse Gearhart and Jeni Chase, of Three Oaks, are the parents of a daughter, born June 12, 2012, at Lakeland-Niles. She weighed 7 pounds, 3 ounces.

The Gearharts are also the parents of a son and a daughter, Noah Gearhart, 1, and Brittany, 4.

Maternal grandparents are Lori Chase, of New Buffalo, and James Chase, of Galien. Paternal grandparents are Peggy Gearhart and Jim Gearhart, of Three Oaks. Maternal great-grandparents are Joe and Sherly Gober, of Murrels Inlet, S. Carolina. Paternal great-grandparents are Lloyd Gearhart, of Three Oaks, and Libby, of Union Pier.

Bennett-Zavitz

Crystal Marie Bennett and Frank Scott Zavitz, of Niles, are the parents of a son, Brody Frank Zavitz, born June 12, 2012, at Lakeland-Niles. He weighted 8 pounds, 1 ounce.

The Bennett-Zavitz’s are also the parents of a daughter, Destiny, 14.
