Cass, Eddies dominate squad

The top two finishers in the Lakeland Conference soccer standings dominated the all-league squad, which was released Thursday.
Champion Edwardsburg (8-1-1) and runner-up Cassopolis (7-1-2) each had four representatives on the first team.
For the Eddies, Ally McIntee, Shannon Schalk and Paige Szlanfucht, along with co-Coach of the Year Brett Harring were selected.
The Rangers had Jocelyn Transou, Jessica Waldschmidt, Meagan Ruff and goalkeeper Molly Moroz named to the squad.
In all, the Eddies and Rangers finished with 21 players selected for the three levels of the all-conference squad.
Buchanan’s Morgan French, and Bucks’ coach Brian Pruett were first team selections.
Coloma’s Kaisa Ala-Venna and Rachel Tallman, along with Bridgman’s Lauren Witherow rounded out the first team.
Brandywine had just two players named to the squad as Angelika Anderson was a second team selection and Allie Wilson an honorable mention pick.
