SWM plays in Junior State Cup semis

ST. JOSEPH — Southwest Michigan Soccer Club’s U12 Boys (SWM) competed in the Junior State Cup semifinals June 2-3.

They advance after three consecutive Junior State Cup wins against the Rangers SC (5-1), Vardar Southfield Soccer United (4-2) and the Royal Oak Renegades (2-1).

SWM was one of four teams left in the U12 – 8-on- 8 tournament.  The semifinal and finals took place in East Lansing.

The Junior State Cup is a highly competitive statewide tournament and is endorsed by the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program for teams intending to compete at the Premier level.  The team will be competing in the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program as SWM U13 boys in the fall of 2012.

The team consisted of players from Baroda, Berrien Springs, Bridgman, Buchanan, Coloma, Dowagiac, Hartford, St. Joseph, Stevensville and St. Joseph.
