A 69-year-old Vandalia man lost control of his motorcycle on a downhill curve Tuesday in Newberg Township and crashed.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. said his office was called to investigate at 11:45 a.m. after Duane Bourdon, who was wearing a helmet, attempted to negotiate the curve on Hideaway Drive near Buck Lake Road and lost control due to sandy debris in the roadway.
Bourdon was taken by Newberg Ambulance Service to Elkhart General Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Alcohol was not a factor. The incident remains under investigation.
