Mary E. Love Freshour Helmlinger, 73, of Edwardsburg, passed May 26, 2012, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka.
She was born June 30, 1938, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of Everett R. Love and Lucy A. Fisher. She had worked for Taylor Products for more than 22 years in Elkhart, and then worked for her husband and his brothers in Zephyr Service Station in Edwardsburg.
She was married Nov. 25, 1968, in Nashville, Tenn., to Arthur Helmlinger, who passed Nov. 22, 2011. She had been active in the Edwardsburg area, including being a den mother to Scout Troop Pack 239.
Surviving are Mary’s children, Lonnie (Vickie) Freshour, of White Pigeon, Anthony Freshour, Kennth Freshour and Robin Freshour, all of South Bend; three stepdaughters, Dawn (Ross) Dickey, of Niles, Diane (Mark) Britton, of South Broadman, Mich., and Pam (Matt) Doorn, of Elkhart; 25 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one brother, Arnold “Bud” (Bonnie) Love, of Marion, Ind.; and a sister, Ruth Barlow, of Gas City, Ind.
Family who have passed are here parents; a stepdaughter, Debbie Schroder; three brothers, David and Leroy Love and J.B. Moss; sisters, Farlene Anderson, Gerrylene Keith, Marie Love and Wilma Dean Love.
There was a graveside service in Edwardsburg Cemetery Tuesday at 11 a.m. Friends and family gathered from 10:30 to 11 a.m. The family, assisted by friends, conducted the service.
She was placed next to her loving husband, Art, who just passed six months ago.
