The saying goes “nobody’s perfect,” but Kyle Slack was exactly that in Edwardsburg’s 3-0 victory over Coloma on Tuesday.

The win clinched at least a share of the Lakeland Conference championship. The Eddies needed to complete the sweep to earn the outright crown.

That is exactly what Edwardsburg did, winning the nightcap 11-1 in five innings.

Slack pitched a perfect game against the Comets as he went the distance, striking out 14 and not walking a single batter.

The Eddies scored a run in the first and then two in the sixth to complete the scoring. Calib Dill singled to drive in what turned out to be the winning run in the first.

Edwardsburg increased its lead with two runs in the sixth. Slack kicked things off with a single, scoring Maris Marazita. That was followed up by Matt Toney’s’s single, bringing home Taylor Reynolds.

In the nightcap, Seven runs in the first three innings allowed Edwardsburg to put the game away early.

An RBI single by Toney in the second inning fueled Eddies’ offense. Toney racked up four RBIs on two hits.

Jordon Bosse got the win for Edwardsburg thanks to five strikeouts. Bosse allowed one earned run on four hits and three walks over five innings.
