Daily Star photo/KATIE ROHMAN Firefighters from Bertrand and Buchanan township departments battled a fire at the Southeast Berrien County Landfill Thursday evening. Smoke could be seen from Mayflower and Chamberlain roads as wind gusts up to 33 miles per hour lifted the smoke out of the landfill. A firefighter at the scene said the fire was not a threat, but needed to be maintained.
