Cass man hurt in Calvin crash

A crash in Calvin Township Monday evening injured a Cassopolis man.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his deputies handled the personal-injury mishap just south of Calvin Hill Street at 5:05 p.m.
Witnesses said Mike James, 43, of Cassopolis, was traveling north on Cassopolis Road when he crossed the center line and struck a southbound vehicle.
The southbound vehicle was driven by Thomas Prawat, 53, of Elkhart, Ind.
James was airlifted to South Bend, Ind., Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Prawat was released at the scene of the accident.
Penn Fire, Life Care Ambulance and MedFlight assisted deputies.
Alcohol was not a factor in the accident, which remains under investigation.
