The Brandywine baseball team tuned up for next week’s state tournament with a non-league doubleheader with Watervliet Thursday.

The Bobcats edged the Panthers 4-3 in the first game behind a five-hit effort by Kyle Duncan.

The second game was tied at 7-7 when called due to darkness.

Austin Searles had a double for Brandywine in the opener, while Alex Erwin finished with three hits.

Buck Bourdon had a double for Brandywine in the nightcap.

The Bobcats will take a 16-13-1 record into Tuesday’s Division 3 pre-district contest against Buchanan.
