CASSOPOLIS — A crash Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of M-217 and Wayne Street in Porter Township injured a White Pigeon man.

Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports his office was called to investigate the mishap at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.

Michael Williams, 26, of White Pigeon, was northbound on M-217 when a westbound vehicle driven by James Fitzgerald, 42, of Elkhart, Ind., pulled in front of him from Wayne Street.

Fitzgerald was uninjured. Porter Ambulance Service, however, treated and transported Williams to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital. Seat belts were used. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor.
