EDWARDSBURG — A day after playing a huge Lakeland Conference baseball doubleheader at Bridgman, Edwardsburg returned home to face a struggling Dowagiac team.

The Eddies, despite having used its top pitchers the day before, were able to sweep with Chieftains and show their depth at that position.

Dalton Raymond tossed a three-hitter in the opener as Edwardsburg thumped Dowagiac 12-2 in five innings.

The Chieftains were a bit more competitive in the nightcap, but fell 8-6.

In the first game, Michael Kempton, Brett Bowman and Raymond all drove in two runs for the Eddies.

The Chieftains got doubles from Cal Cox and Brett Scanlon. Scanlon finished with two hits and an RBI. Cox also drove in a run.
