DOWAGIAC — Visiting Niles was too much for the Dowagiac tennis team in the final tune up for both schools before Thursday’s regional tournament.

The Vikings defeated the Chieftains 7-1, winning in straight sets in six of their seven flights.

Dowagiac’s lone victory came at No. 3 singles where Sydney Foote defeated Autumn Payne 6-2 and 6-1.

“The team did not play so well tonight,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. “We have played a lot of tennis this week. Not taking anything away from Niles, Niles is a very good team.”
