VICKSBURG — The Dowagiac golf team continues to finish in third place at the Wolverine Conference jamborees and will ultimately be unable to defend its league championship.

The Chieftains were third again Monday in the final regular season jamboree held at Angels Crossing in Vicksburg.

Otsego, which is five points ahead of runner-up Vicksburg heading into the league tournament back at Angels Crossing Wednesday, May 23, grabbed first place with a score of 161.

Plainwell was second at 170 and Dowagiac third at 170. The Trojans earned the runner-up spot based on fifth-man scoring.

Jordan Juday and Cody Fairleigh both cracked the top 10 Monday as they shot 38 and 40 respectively.
