May 10 pet of the week/Walter

Published 6:01 pm Thursday, May 10, 2012

Walter, a shy schnauzer fella, was found wandering with his fur in terrible shape-all full of matts and burrs. A friendly guy took him home and got him all cleaned up and brought him to the shelter. Walter was quite grateful for the grooming.
He is a sweet fella, a bit timid for all his experiences in the big wide world. Walter is lovable. He is clean in his kennel — housebroken? He shyly takes treats, and enjoys being petted.

Walter the shy schnauzer

Walter would make a great companion for a singleton or quiet family home — no small kids, though. Walter will need updating on shots and neutering soon. He is a cutie; don’t wait to call!
Last week’s dog adoptions include: labs, White Lightning, Scooby, Dextee and two lab mixes yet to be named; Oreo, border collie; Nellie, chow mix; Molly, English springer spaniel. The puppy adoption was an Aussie mixed male. Cat adoption was Pumpkin, and kittens adopted were Romeo and Stewart. Kittens abound in the shelter; puppies are coming, too, in many colors and breeds. Come, meet, adopt!
