EHS softball team sweeps ’Cats

NILES — Edwardsburg remained a game behind Lakeland Conference leader Coloma with a sweep of host Brandywine Tuesday.

The Eddies improved to 5-1 in conference play with wins of 11-1 and 15-0. Both games lasted just five innings.

The Eddies had 11 hits in the opener, including four extra base hits. Tanner Kiessel, Andrea LaPlace and Maddi Holmes all doubled, while Teryn Williams tripled.

Kelly Harper had a double for the Bobcats.

In the nightcap, LaPlace tossed a two-hitter for Edwardsburg.

Kiessel had a home run.
