Gladys E. Surbaugh, 88, of Edwardsburg, passed to her rest Friday, April 27, 2012, at Silverbrook Manor, Niles, after an illness.
She was born Nov. 28, 1923, in Madison, Ind., daughter of Colonel and Julia (Hobbs) Cable. She lived in this area for more than 60 years.
She was married March 29, 1960, in South Bend, Ind., as Gladys Cable, to Clifford E. Surbaugh Jr., who passed Nov. 7, 2002. Other family who passed are her parents.
Surviving is her favorite pet, her dog, Rusty; her sister, Ruby Oatswall of Crystal River, Fla.; two brothers, Roy Cable of Madison, Ind., and Art (Irene) Cable of Columbus, Ohio; and her advocate and health caregiver, Donald E. Jonas of South Bend.
There will be a private interment at a time just for immediate family. No visitation or services will be open to the public.
Arrangements are by the Paul E. Mayhew Funeral Home, Edwardsburg.
Memorial donations in her memory may be directed to the choice of the donor to their charity of choice.
