Visiting Marcellus overwhelmed Brandywine in the first game of their non-league softball game Wednesday.

The Wildcats scored eight runs in the first two innings, hit three home runs and rolled to an 11-1 win in five innings.

In the nightcap, the Bobcats were a bit more focused and put up a much better battle before falling 4-2.

“We didn’t come ready to play in the first game and Marcellus came swinging the bats,” Brandywine coach Angela Mellott said. “Once we settled down and did our jobs, we played a much better second game.

Brande Overholt took the loss in the first game, while Mikayla Kemp, who relieved Overholt in the opener, took the loss in the nightcap.

Madison Pellow tripled for Brandywine in the second game, while Justine Sater doubled.
