Michigan Gateway Community Foundation held an open house April 22 for the graduating members of its Youth Advisory Council (YAC). The six senior graduates, from left, are Abby Butler of Niles High School who will be attending St. Mary’s College; Danny Touhey of Niles High School who is going to New York University; Taylor Brandstatter of Niles High School who is going to DePauw University; Max Habicht, of Edwardsburg High School, headed to University of South Carolina; Sarah Long, of Buchanan High School, who will be attending Grand Valley State University; and Eric Reed, of Marcellus High School, who is going to Michigan State University. The seniors have been involved anywhere from two to four years on the council, participating in new member orientations, summer leadership training conferences and many community service projects.
