Chieftains rebound with win over Comets

COLOMA – Visiting Dowagiac bounced back from its first loss of the season with a 3-0 non-league soccer win over Coloma Friday.

The Chieftains (8-1-1) got a pair of goals in the first half.

Kelsie Primley opened the scoring in the 27th minute off an assist from Lauren Krueger. Krueger then dented the back of the net about 10 minutes late to give Dowagiac a 2-0 halftime advantage.

Dowagiac capped with a goal by leading scorer Breanna Williams in the 51st minute.

The Chieftains held an 11-2 advantage in shots on goal. Alyssa Fritz had two saves for Dowagiac.
