Bobcats sweep Rangers

CASSOPOLIS — The Brandywine softball team made short work out of host Cassopolis Tuesday.

The Bobcats defeated the Rangers 13-1 in six innings and 18-2 in four innings of the Lakeland Conference doubleheader.

Brande Overholt was the winning pitcher in both games as she allowed just seven combined hits.

In the opener, Paige Jeffrey and Overholt both doubled and tripled.

In the nightcap, Maranda Smallmon was 3-for-3 with a double, while Rachael Ort singled, doubled and drove in three runs.

Kelly Harper had a pair of home runs for the Bobcats.
