Vikings square record at 5-45

COLOMA — The Niles baseball team squared its record at 5-5 with a sweep of host Coloma Thursday afternoon.

The Vikings won the opening game 7-2 and then took the second contest 6-2.

Mitchell Dehn had two hits and three RBIs for Niles in the opener. Matthew McLaughlin and Tyler Parish both doubled.

Tate Brawley picked up the victory as he struck out eight and scattered five hits.

In the nightcap, Dehn doubled, while Chris Mangus, Taylor Campbell, Taylor Weldy and Jake Brentlinger all drove in runs.

Brentlinger picked up the victory as he worked the first four innings, allowing 1 earned run on one hit with three strikeouts. Mangus pitched the final two innings, striking out three.
