Eddies rip Bronson

BRONSON — Visiting Edwardsburg swept a non-league doubleheader from Bronson Monday.

The Eddies scored 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back in taking the opener 14-1 in five innings. Edwardsburg completed the sweep with a 17-1 victory in the three-inning nightcap.

Kyle Slack and Caleb Dill combined on a one-hitter for the Eddies.

Ethan Zimmerman, Dill and Brett Bowman all doubled in the opening game.

Jordan Bosse tossed a two-hitter in the second game for Edwardsburg.

Maris Marazita and Bosse both doubled for the Eddies.

Edwardsburg vs, Buchanan

BUCHANAN – Kyle Slack struck out 11 and allowed four hits as visiting Edwardsburg defeated Buchanan 6-2 in its Lakeland Conference opener.

The second game was deadlocked at 4-4 when it was suspended due to darkness.

The Eddies (2-1, 1-0 Lakeland) scored two runs in the second and sixth innings. Edwardsburg scored six runs on five hits and took advantage of five Buchanan errors.

Ethan Zimmerman, Slack, M Toney, J Bosse and G Bronkama all had hits for the Eddies. Michael Kempton, Slack, Bronkama and D Raymond each drove in a run.

Nathan Henckel had a single and a triple for the Bucks (2-4, 0-1 Lakeland).
