Brandywine sweeps Comets, BeaversPublished 11:05pm Wednesday, April 18, 2012
The Brandywine tennis team took advantage of the best weather day in April to play a pair of matches at Plym Park Wednesday.
The Bobcats easily defeated Coloma in its Lakeland Conference match 7-1. Brandywine then blanked Eau Claire 8-0 in a non-league match that featured a pro set.
The second match also gave the Bobcats a chance to jumble up the line-up and allow some of its doubles players to get in some singles action.
Both Rachel Gipson and Carlie Newman moved up from doubles to singles and game away winners. Gipson defeated Caitlin Fitz 8-0 and Newman defeated Katie Stack 8-1.
