Visiting Three Rivers swept the singles flights on its way to a 6-2 Wolverine Conference tennis victory over Dowagiac Thursday afternoon.

The Chieftains got a pair of wins at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles.

Jessica Martin and Megan Hornburg defeated Emily Whitehead and Cory Sanders 6-0 and 6-2, while Madison Proshwitz and Rebecca Luth defeated Alyssa Barker and Paige Barton 6-4 and 6-3.

“This is a very young team, that worked very hard tonight,” Dowagiac coach Curtis Partee said. “But the unforced errors took us right out of the match. We continue to show some signs of improvement and we will keep working hard on the game.”
