Brandyine splits with Berrien Springs

The Brandywine baseball team split with visiting Berrien Springs Wednesday afternoon in the Lakeland Conference opener for both schools.

The Shamrocks (5-2, 1-1 Lakeland) won the opening game 8-4, but dropped the nightcap to the Bobcats 5-3. The second game was halted after five innings due to darkness.

Brandywine (2-3, 1-1) got a home run from Brian Kline, as well as a double and a triple from Austin Searles in the first game loss.

Kyle Duncan took the loss.

In the nightcap, Alex Erwin went the distance to earn the victory.
